Chris Brown Pleads Not Guilty!!??!!

 

 

Wearing all black, Chris Brown arrived to court today at 3:25p.m. for his arraignment. He was accompanied by his mother who was seen smiling in court along with his bodyguards and his lawyer Mark Geragos. Hollyscoop was inside the courtroom when Chris entered his “not guilty” plea. His mood was very somber and he could barely be heard when he spoke to the Judge. Brown pleaded not guilty on both counts including criminal threats and assault after he was charged with allegedly beating his ex-girlfriend Rihanna. After the arraignment Rihanna’s attorney, Donald Etra held a press conference outside the courthouse stating that Rihanna will cooperate with the court if she is ordered to and she would be pleased “if it [the case] were over quickly.” Hollyscoop spoke to Etra after the press conference where he told us that Rihanna is still in Barbados spending time with her family. When asked if Rihanna and Chris Brown are still in contact, he told Hollyscoop: “I don’t comment on my clients personal life.” Chris is due back in court on April 29, 2009.

LiL Wayne Suing Film Execs For Fraud!!

LIL WAYNE is suing film executives for fraud and breach of contract after they allegedly reneged on a deal to give the rap superstar final approval on a documentary about his life. The Lollipop hitmaker, real name Dwayne Carter Jr., claims he gave a film crew working for Digerati Holdings and QD3 Entertainment exclusive access to his everyday life for a movie about the the star, titled The Carter. In exchange, movie bosses agreed to give Lil Wayne final say on the finished film. The rapper’s manager viewed the footage in December (08) and requested some content be removed from the documentary. He was shown the edited reel again in January (09), but still had objections to the movie and sent it back to the cutting room. But according to legal documents obtained by Radar Online, producers failed to adhere to the demands and presented what Carter’s camp have called a “scandalous portrayal” of the MC at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year (09). Carter is also suing for unfair business practices, invasion of privacy, and breach of covenant of good faith and fair dealing.

Hip-hop mogul BRYAN ‘BABY’ WILLIAMS has defended his protege LIL WAYNE against criticism of his upcoming experimental album, insisting people should not try to label it because it’s simply “great music”. Lil Wayne has been working on Rebirth, the follow-up to his Grammy-winning disc Tha Carter III, for months as he attempts to cross boundaries from rap to rock. The Lollipop hitmaker has come under fire from some detractors for attempting the feat, insisting he should stick to what he’s good at. But Cash Money Records boss Williams, also known as Birdman, claims critics are “misunderstood” because the rapper isn’t aiming to make a pure rock record. He tells Vibe magazine, “It’s not a rock record, that’s what I think people are getting misunderstood. “When you (sic) speaking about a rock record, you think he’s got a guitar and everything, but it’s not that. It’s going to be some of those types of beats, but it’s just great music. I don’t think no (sic) artist can do what he about to get done (sic). My son is a rock star.” And Williams is adamant Lil Wayne deserves all the recognition he is garnering, because he is a multi-talented star setting new heights for hip-hop and the music industry as a whole. He adds, “He can rap, he can sing, he’s just an artist. I don’t think no one (sic) will ever be greater than Wayne because I don’t think no one puts in the time or the quality. If someone do (sic) come along, can you imagine what he’ll have to do? He’s got to put out a thousand mixtapes, do a thousand records and sell 100 million records. 2Pac, Jay-Z and Biggie didn’t get to the s**t Wayne’s done.”

Andre 3000 Arrested Doing 109 MPH!!!

Outkast’s Andre 3000 (real name: Andre Benjamin) was arrested near Atlanta Saturday for driving his 2007 Porsche Carrera at such a high speed that police called him “an accident waiting to happen,” according to Atlanta’s WSB-TV, TMZ and AllHipHop.com. A police officer told the station that the MC was clocked at 109 MPH on Saturday morning, significantly over the 65-mph speed limit, on Interstate 75, and was arrested for the danger he posed. “Traveling that fast along 75, you’re passing people as if they’re standing still,” Henry County Police Captain Jason Bolton told the station. “It’s an accident waiting to happen.” The MC was released after posting $1,200 bail, according to TMZ. He is scheduled to appear in court on April 29.
